The Horse and Hound began its working life as a Coaching inn in 1701. It is a warm and welcoming place to stay full of character and original features but also some modern ones such as Steam Showers.
We have a selection of 9 en-suite bedrooms tastefully decorated with superior accommodation having steam rooms.
Our traditional country style restaurant offers the perfect atmosphere in which to enjoy traditional Scottish Fayre. The lounge Bar is spacious and has a typical 17th Century feel where you can enjoy a light lunch or bar meal. The public bar has many original features and also boasts a welcoming fire , real ales and a warm and friendly environment.
The Horse and Hound is an ideal base from which to explore the magnificent countryside and many historic towns and buildings of the Borders.
We can also offer golf, hunting and shooting packages.
