Getting there from the Information Centre
From the Tourist Information Centre, follow directions as from Bus Terminal.
Getting There by Railway
From Dumfries Railway Station, turn left out of the main exit and walk to the Main Road (Haughs Vauxhall dealership opposite), turn right and walk to traffic lights. Cairndale Hotel is on opposite side of the road.
Getting there by Aeroplane
From Glasgow Airport, head towards the City Centre until you see signs for Carlisle. Follow the signs for Carlisle until you see signs for Dumfries (A701). This road takes you to Dumfries. Continue towards town centre. Cross the by-pass, turn left at the first set of traffic lights (Dumfries Academy), follow one way system (signposted for Carlisle A75). The hotel lies on the right hand side of English Street, opposite the Regional Council Offices.
Getting There by Ferry
From the Terminal, follow directions to the A75 Dumfries. When you reach the first roundabout on the Dumfries bypass, turn right. Continue towards the town centre. Cross the river and follow the signs for Carlisle. Pass Greyfriars Church and turn right at the traffic lights (Dumfries Academy). Follow the one-way system. The Hotel lies on the right hand side of English Street, opposite the Regional Council Offices.
