Carlyle House

Carlyle House is a family run Bed & Breakfast. The house sits in the heart of the village of Ecclefechan opposite the birthplace of the Victorian historian and essayist Thomas Carlyle.
We are situated conveniently for access to and from the M74 motorway and sit on Route 74 of the National Cycle Route. We provide an ideal resting point for those traveling from the north of Scotland to the south of England as we are centrally located. We are also offer an ideal base for those who wish to explore the local area or travel further a field, for example, we are within easy reach of the Lake District, the Galloway Park, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Carlyle House is currently undergoing some refurbishment and upgrading that will offer improved facilities for our guest.
