The Marks

This attractive farmhouse offers you a warm welcome in an idyllic location in the glorious Galloway countryside, surrounded by quiet lanes, rolling hills and beautiful beaches.
This elegant property, dating back to 16th century and reputedly the dower house for Kirkcudbright's McLellan’s Castle, has been beautifully restored with your comfort in mind. Set in beautiful, large rambling gardens, the farmhouse has a grand study and drawing room where on chilly nights, you can cosy up by the toasty log fires. Each of the tastefully decorated bedrooms offers fantastic views over the pretty garden and Galloway countryside and is either sumptuously spacious or cosy and quaint. All are stylishly decorated with home from home comforts which will make your stay a blissful one.
The owner is a fantastic cook and is committed to making the most of the region’s fantastic natural larder to serve you only the freshest, locally sourced produce. Start the day with a tasty home cooked Scottish breakfast with all the trimmings or fill up on one of the tasty lighter options. Delicious evening meals are also served if required.
The farmhouse is set on a large working farm, surrounded by miles of rolling woodland, walking trails, a glistening loch, and green parkland, just waiting to be explored - there’s so much to do you could literally enjoy a whole day on the farm. Located on National Cycle Route 7 and just a short drive away from four of the 7stanes mountain biking centres and the walker’s paradise of the Galloway hills, the area is the perfect outdoor playground.
