Battery House
We are a family home offering a warm Scottish welcome. Russell and Laura moved here in 1993, to mix the pleasures of living by the river with the convenience of being so close to Edinburgh. The half-hourly local rail service to Edinburgh ensures you arrive from the centre of town in about 15 minutes. If you are going into town, the train can be far quicker than the car and without the parking problems! The village station is under 10 minutes walk from our door and as we are on the main East coast line, you have easy access to any part of the country, North, South, East or West.
A full cooked breakfast, "the works" or something lighter? Choose from yogurts, fresh fruits, home-made marmalade and jams, delicious fresh coffee, juices and different teas. Vegetarian options a plenty.
Dinner can be provided by arrangement, or why not sample the cooking at the excellent local hotels. Three are located within the village, two within a five minute walk, one within a ten minute stroll.
The garden, which gives us pleasure to look after, will surely give you pleasure to look at, as you are welcome to wander around and perhaps exchange gardening lore and gardeners' gossip with Laura of an evening, before Dinner.
