Ormsary Farm

A warm, friendly welcome awaits Ormsary, which is located in a pretty glen in Southend, near the Mull of Kintyre. The last section of the popular "Kintyre Way" walking trail runs past the farmhouse and walkers will be made very welcome. There is always plenty going on at Ormsary as it is very much a working farm, with a herd of Ayrshire Cows milked twice a day. You might be lucky enough to see a calf born during your stay!
When not enjoying the comfortable surroundings at Ormsary there are many other outdoor activities close by to enjoy like trout fishing on local lochs and rivers, hill walking around the Mull or horse riding. For breathtaking scenery, why not visit the Mull of Kintyre, made famous in Paul McCartney's song. Take along your binoculars as the ornithological enthusiast will not want to miss an opportunity. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the local 18 hole links golf course at Dunaverty, the renowned Machrihanish Championship Course or the new Machrihanish Dunes Course. There are also numerous unspoilt sandy beaches scattered around the friendly parish of Southend.
In the town of Campbeltown (approx 10 miles away) there are further activities and amenties including the Springbank Distillery, Campbeltown Owl Centre and many more.
