Ann and Erik welcome you to Craigielea Bed and Breakfast in the Scottish Borders town of Galashiels. We hope you enjoy your stay in this beautiful and historic region.

The Scottish Borders have much to offer - some of Scotland's best salmon fishing on the River Tweed, stately homes and castles, beautiful gardens, and cycleways and long distance walks through the stunning border country. Edinburgh is within easy reach, as is the historic island of Lindisfarne, Berwick on Tweed and the border towns of Peebles (some great shopping here), Kelso and Jedburgh. Visit the border abbeys, or watch the ospreys in Glentress Forest. There are golf courses in most of the border towns including Galashiels, and permits for fishing the River Tweed can be obtained from the Border Angling Centre in Galashiels.

Craigielea is a late Victorian townhouse in the centre of Galashiels. We have 2 twin bedrooms, and one double bedroom, all with en-suite bathrooms and hospitality trays.

In our guest lounge you will find television and a selection of books and games, also information about what to see and do during your stay. On street parking is available at the rear of the house. We cater for walkers (the Southern Upland Way runs within 100 yards of Craigielea) and cyclists, and have secure bicycle storage.

Breakfast is served in the dining room, and we offer a full range of cereals, fruit, juice, a hearty cooked breakfast, or if you prefer something lighter, perhaps and a cheese and ham croissant or a plate of pastries. We try and use local ingredients wherever possible, sausages and black pudding from local butchers, Scottish bakery products, local jams and preserves and fish from the east coast fishing villages.

Galashiels and nearby Melrose have a wide variety of pubs and restaurants providing good food, or we offer evening meals and packed lunches by arrangement.
