Edgerston Mill

Information enquiry Booking

Early 19th Century converted sawmill with waterfall and mill lade in 1 acre of mature garden, 500 metres off A68 and 8 miles south of the Border town of Jedburgh. Situated in the once beautiful estate of Edgerston House which was owned by the Rutherford and Oliver families and sold in 1980. The mill was converted in 1990 and is a peaceful and beautiful setting for a few days rest and relaxation. Tudor chimneys with crow stepped gables and oak framed windows the mill is tastefully furnished in a rustic style and is owned by Robert and Jean Lyle and their little dog Millie.

Jedburgh is one of 4 Border towns all of which boast glorious ruined abbeys of the 13th and 14th centuries. It has many historical features as have Melrose, Kelso and Dryburgh all close at hand.

The Mill has one double room ensuite and a twin room ensuite. It is within the foothills of the Cheviot Hills separating England and Scotland with many lovely walks with Roman remains, all within easy distance. It is also a very handy stopping off point en route to Edinburgh and the Highlands. It is the first B&B reached over the Border.

There is fishing to be had on the Tweed, Teviot and Jed waters and shooting is available in season, by prior arrangement.
