Getting There by Car

From Inverkip/Largs/Ayrshire direction:

Follow the coast Road A770, to the left at the roundabout as you leave Inverkip. You will pass the Cardwell Garden Centre on your right and then, after a mile or so, you will pass the Western Ferry Terminal at McInroy's Point on your left. Then you come into a built up area. Continue for a few hundred yards until you see a white building standing alone on the LHS (Gourock Yacht Club.)

Turn right immediately opposite (Victoria Road) a steep hill with passing places. At the T junction at the top of the road, take a sharp right; you are in Golf Road - another short, steep hill. At the top follow the road to the left, and take an immediate right into Cowal View. You will pass a chemist and "Spar" shop on the corner.

Getting There by Railway

Trains run directly from Glasgow Central Train Station - Gourock

From Gourock Train Station: Gourock TIC is across the road.

Come out of the Station and turn left; take the first proper right turn - butcher's shop on the corner. You are in St John's Road. Follow this road, ignoring all forks to the left and right until you reach the top of the short steep hill (Golf road) At the top follow the road to the left, and take an immediate right into Cowal View. You will pass a chemist and "Spar" shop on the corner. Follow this road to the end - it starts to twist until you are right in front of the water; at this point the road turns sharply left, but you turn right into Turnberry Avenue (sign on RHS). I am the last house on left at the foot of the hill - long brown picket fence!

Getting there by Aeroplane

From GLASGOW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - Paisley:

Take the bus to McInroys Point. Alight at the Western Ferry Terminal. (15 Minutes walk)

Turn left out of the ferry car park and continue along the main road to Cloch Brae (post box on corner) turn right. Halfway up the hill, you will see a path with some steps. Turn up here; you will pass my house on your left. At the top turn left and get a well earned cup of tea!

Alternatively you can alight at Gourock Train Station and take a taxi. (just a very short journey away)

From PRESTWICK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - Prestwick:

Take a train to Paisley Gilmour Street then train to Gourock and take a taxi. (just a very short journey away)

Getting There by Ferry

From Caledonian Ferry Terminal:

Come out of the ferry car park and turn left; take the first proper right turn - butcher's shop on the corner. You are in St John's Road. Follow this road, ignoring all forks to the left and right until you reach the top of the short steep hill (Golf road) At the top follow the road to the left, and take an immediate right into Cowal View. You will pass a chemist and "Spar" shop on the corner.
