The Monachs

The Monachs Guest House is situated 2.8 miles south of Port Charlotte amidst beautiful farmland with spectacular sea views from every bedroom, accessed by a 500 metre private driveway.
Whilst "The Monachs" named after a now uninhabited group of islands off the west coast of Scotland is a brand new house, you get the feeling it has been here for years, this is mainly due to the unique design, the mixture of antique and modern furniture, along with the walls being adorned with original paintings.
Although the en-suite bedrooms and public rooms are all very well appointed, you still get a very homely feeling about the house.
After a well made breakfast with a choice of various combinations including fresh fish you can explore the many beautiful and interesting sites of Islay, look up old friends or make new ones, fish in the stunning lochs which are teaming with wild brown trout, play golf on one of Britain's top links courses, cycle on the quiet single track roads (we have two well equipped bikes), or just relax on the verandah trying to spot our neighbours i.e The Hen Harrier, Red and Roe Deer, numerous Hares or the rare Chough etc.
