Currach Bed & Breakfast

Currach Bed and Breakfast is 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Lake of Menteith. The village is the landing place from the Island of Inchmahome on the Lake where trout fishing is undertaken. Glasgow and Edinburgh are an hour away and it is a 25 minute drive to visit Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Port of Menteith is in the Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park and as well as being considered "The Gateway to the Highlands", it is an ideal central touring base.
Currach is furnished to a high standard. All bedrooms are ensuite and are equipped with colour TV;s and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms face south catching the morning sun. Enjoy a traditional or continental breakfast in the conservatory dining room looking out to the Menteith Hills. Take a ferry to Inchmahome Island and step back in time to the ruined Augustine Priory founded in 1238 or visit the home and burial site of Rob Roy McGregor. As well local forest walks, cycle paths and horse riding. Aberfoyle, four miles away, boasts several shops, pubs and restaurants and a beautiful 18 hole golf course.
