Wild Cottage

The perfect setting for an "away from it all" holiday, Wild Cottage is an attractive and comfortable house with a garden full of flowers, birds and butterflies. A burn runs through the garden, and Buzzards and White-tailed Sea-eagles fly overhead.

Walk from the cottage, and within a few minutes you are crossing a stone humpback bridge, surrounded by stunning scenery. Wading birds frequent the pools at the head of the loch, and smaller birds flit amongst the bushes. You may see Red Deer on the moorland, or if you are very lucky, an Otter in the river or the bright blue flash of a Kingfisher on the rocks. Continue down the Grasspoint road through patches of old oak woodland and meadows full of bluebells, orchids and other wild flowers, according to the season, and you will eventually reach the sea at Grasspoint, where sea-eagles can sometimes be seen sitting on the rocks.

A short drive from Lochdon takes you to the start of many other walks, or you may like to explore the villages, castles and other historic sites of this beautiful island.
