The Old Shop B&B (Carsethorn)
The Old Shop is a family home that welcomes you to Carsethorn, a small peaceful village on the shore of the Solway Firth. Carsethorn is a marvellous base to visit south west Scotland and The Borders.
The views from Carsethorn are spectacular being one of few vantage points that you can see the shore of Scotland and England together. We are surrounded by wildlife, a highlight would be the Porpoises seen regularly in the bay from the bottom of our garden. It is a bird-watchers paradise for both sea and land birds. The area offers a full range of fishing, river, sea and loch. There really is something for everyone to do when it comes to visitor attractions, walking horse riding or cycling within the immediate area.
The accommodation has a twin and a double bedroom which are very comfortable and quiet. The rooms are double glazed, central heating with TV, a coffee/tea making facilities, haird-dryer and towels supplied. A full English breakfast is served in the morning between 07.45 - 09.15am. You are welcome to relax in the lounge which overlooks the sea and have full use of the seashore garden, which has direct access to the beach. There is The Steamboat Inn in the village that serves good food every evening and most lunch times (seasonal). Parking in own grounds.
Carsethorn can be reached by bus which runs regularly from Dumfries along the Solway Coastal Route. So if you want to have a peaceful, relaxing holiday with good food and a warm welcome, The Old Shop is the place to come.
