Thank you for your enquiry regarding our self-catering accommodation. The property known as The Bothy is situated in the grounds of, and adjacent to Torr A'Chlachainn House, Dervaig and sleeps two. It is a small stone-built two storey cottage. It had been on a long let for five years and when it became available we were delighted to be able to offer low cost accommodation to couples instead of their having to rent far larger places intended for 4 people. The Bothy is a cosy wee place with bags of character and we have gone out of our way to make it as attractive as possible.

Entrance is through a lean to sun-room, for those days when the sun does shine in Mull (as shown in the photos). We have a nice new Patio with a seat on it to the side of its front door.

The Lounge/Diner is heated by a convector heater. There is a two-seater and small arm chair, a gate-legged oval table and two dining chairs. There is a large chest of drawers & a coloured television. The steep staircase leads up from the lounge to the bedroom above and a trap door can be lowered down to cover the stair-well and prevent draughts!
Upstairs the bedroom has a coved ceiling measuring just under 6 foot at its highest point, there is a heater and the bed is a 'Zip-n-Link, which means it can either be made up as an enormous double (5' 6") or as twin-beds. We leave the bed as a double unless instructed otherwise! Suitable duvets are provided and all bed-linen. In fact all we ask you to bring are towels and your personal gear! Payment for the electricity used is by a £1 coin meter. There is ample parking space . Adjacent to the Bothy and in addition the Old Byre has a large car park. We do allow dogs to the Bothy.

We own the Fishing rights on the Tenga banks of the Aros, which has some good pools for Salmon and Sea Trout and Loch Frisa has a large number of native Brown Trout - permits to fish parts of both river and loch are handled by Tackle & Books Tobermory.

The house has a large garden which you may use and the Torr is a fenced-off rugged tree clad hill, ideal for 'early morning walks'! The village of Dervaig is about 2 miles away, with a Theatre, Pub, Post Office/small general store, book shop (newspapers) & a choice of places for evening meals if you wish to dine out. Be warned no petrol pumps (Salen & Tobermory are your nearest). There is a Heritage Centre with its Gift Shop & Tearoom near by, but none of the buildings overlook each other and are very separate.

Firm reservations are made on receipt of a payment of one third of the total rental payable, with the balance payable six week prior to the commencement date of your holiday. Bookings are made Saturday to Saturday. Please make cheques payable to Ursula Bradley. This Deposit is non-refundable.

It is advisable to make any ferry reservations necessary well in advance of your anticipated holiday, particularly if travelling at high-season. Mull is served by two main ferry crossings - Lochaline/Fishnish no reservations possible - you have to take a chance) and Oban/Craignure for which reservations should be made. There is a ferry linking the Ardnamurchan Peninsular to Tobermory.
