Fordhead

Three traditional stone cottages situated on our working farm on the banks of the River Forth and enjoying spectacular views of the Trossachs. Fordhead, near the picturesque village of Kippen, provides the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside or simply to relax and unwind. Heatherlea is situated in the lovely, traditional village of Thornhill and is ideally located for exploring this spectacular area.

Fordhead Farm Cottages are set in a quiet, rural spot on the Carse of Stirling and mark the site of the historic ford over the river Forth used by such notable characters as Rob Roy McGregor, William Wallace and Bonnie Prince Charlie. The cottages are ideally situated to explore this area which has some of the most magnificent scenery in the whole country, with Loch Lomond, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Perth all within one hour’s drive. All cottages are equipped and furnished to the highest standard and offer spacious accommodation for 2-6 persons. Dogs are welcome in all 4 cottages and there are plenty of lovely walks on the farm or river bank. A recently planted, Scottish native woodland provides a lovely area to walk near the river Forth.

The Granary, a carefully, renovated steading providing luxurious, ground floor accommodation in 2 large bedrooms both with ensuite shower room. Large spacious lounge with dining area and distinct kitchen area, enjoying spectacular views from the French doors over the Trossachs. Relax on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine and the magnificent sunsets over Ben Lomond.

Fordhead Cottage - Attached to the farmhouse, yet at the same time enjoying complete privacy, with its own enclosed patio, garden and hot tub! Accommodation consists of 2 charming bedrooms and 2 shower rooms; the master bedroom has ensuite shower room. All accommodation is on the ground floor. French doors lead from the spacious lounge/dining area to the enclosed garden and BBQ area with charming views towards Stirling and the Wallace Monument.

The Tool Shed ,with its sheltered patio, offers luxurious accommodation for couples and provides the perfect, cosy spot for a romantic break or relaxing holiday. With its solid wood spiral staircase and mezzanine bedroom it is guaranteed to impress.
Heatherlea, Thornhill is one of the oldest houses in the village, yet has been tastefully renovated to provide superb accommodation for 6 people. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms and also has a large, south facing garden enjoying lovely views over the surrounding countryside.

Facilities -2 top of the range hot tubs in their own private cabins with spectacular views over the Trossachs, provide the ideal place to de-stress with a glass of wine after a busy days sightseeing or walking. Facilities include an all weather tennis court, games cabin with pool table, free fishing on over 1 mile of the River Forth, children's swings, walking, cycling: whatever your interest you are sure to relax here!
