Gardeners Cottage
Torosay Castle lies 1.5 miles from Craignure pier on the Craignure / Iona road. (Iona is 35 miles and Tobermory 23). It's a Grade A listed houese set in spectacular gardens with the principal floor open to the public.
Gardener's Cottage is within Torosay Castle gardens, overlooking the Oriental Garden and has beautiful views over the bay to Duart Castle. The accommodation comprises 1 double and one twin bedded room, kitchen, sitting room and shower room with toilet. A cot and high chair are available on request prior to arrival. there is ample parking nearby.
The cottage is supplied with electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, television, storage heaters and electric fire.
The nearest shop and post office is situated at Craignure from which normal supplies of food can be obtained including milk and petrol. Guests arriving on a Saturday should note that shops and petrol stations are only open for limited hours on Sundays. There is a cottage hospital on the island.
By way of recreation, fishing can be arranged, and there is sea angling, pony trekking, golf and launch trips to Staffa and the Trishnish Islands. There is also Mull theatre at Dervaig which has a great reputation.
Between Easter and October, Caledonian MacBrayne ferries sail daily between Oban and Craignure every 2 hours. Visitors who intend to bring their vehicle are advised to book in advance by calling 08705 650000.
