Discover this wee gem situated on the edge of Biggar but only 5 minutes from the Town Centre in beautiful Border country overlooking the golf course and hills. Cuil Darach is a new owner-built and run bed and breakfast family home, offering first class accommodation and superb breakfasts using local produce, situated on the boundary of the ancient market town of Biggar. On fine days you can breakfast on the patio and look out to the open countryside, golf course and rolling hills. Yet it is only 5 minutes walk from the High Street with its restaurants, pubs, hotels and shops. In Biggar, there are 6 museums, 2 parks and a unique Victorian puppet theatre. It is also the home of Albion Motors remembered in one of the museums. It has the only working gasworks in Scotland and is open on several days in the summer to demonstrate this old technology to enthusiasts.

This is an ideal location for hillwalkers, golfers, anglers, horse riders and tourists with many interesting and historic sites, gardens, museums and galleries nearby including :
Dawyck Botanic Gardens, noted for its cold weather trees and other plants (part of Edinburgh Group of Botanic Gardens); Broughton Gallery set in beautiful surroundings on a hillside ; Skirling Gallery where David Davies displays his works of art ; Stobo Castle which now operates as a health spa; Neidpath Castle medieval castle, erstwhile home of the Fraser, Hay and Douglas families ; Kailzie Gardens where you can view the ospreys ; New Lanark UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other sites to be enjoyed in the wider area include Traquair House; Abbotsford House; Monteviot House and Gardens; Floors Castle and many more.
