A warm welcome awaits you at Ravenstone House B & B. We offer a luxury en-suite with king-size bed, shower and corner bath. Breakfast is served in our conservatory overlooking garden and countryside. Visitors are free to enjoy the garden and conservatory at any time, a great place to relax and chill out and leave all your stresses behind.

Our house was once the Old School House for Ravenstone School and is set in beautiful rolling countryside yet only a few miles from some of Scotland's best undiscovered beaches. We are situated in the heart of The Machars four miles (6.4 km) from the Royal Burgh of Whithorn, the centre for early Christianity with its priory and archaeological dig. Nearby are the villages of Port William with an attractive harbour; Garlieston where the Mulberry Harbours were tested and which played a crucial roll in the D-Day landings. The Isle of Whithorn is a picturesque fishing village with coastal walks and spectacular views of the Isle of Man.

With easy motoring distance there are many gardens for keen horticulturists such as Castle Kennedy, Cally Gardens near Gatehouse of Fleet and the Logan Botanical Gardens south of Portpatrick. Or you can just relax and marvel at the plants that thrive in our mild Gulf Stream climate. For those with an interest in bird watching our varied terrain of hills, moors, farmland and coastal scenery provide a habitat for many different species to captivate both the keen ornithologist as well as the casual viewer.

At Wigtown there is a Visitor Centre overlooking Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve and if we are lucky our nesting pair of Osprey's will return to breed. Vistiors can view their activities in the nest via a camera link during spring to late summer. If books are your passion then Wigtown is the place for you as Scotland's Booktown. For the active visitor there are country, woodland and coastal walks; cycle routes and miles of quiet lanes to explore. There are golf courses where holiday visitors are welcome.
