The accommodation is in an historic house dating from around 1820 and sits on the site of an even older "Manse" [Scottish minister's home, Scotland's equivalent of an English rectory] dating back to the 16th century.
The original church archway can be seen in a nearby early graveyard and is often visited by genealogists searching for their ancestors.
The 3 spacious and comfortable bedrooms at Lonmay Old Manse Bed and Breakfast are named after local places and are well equipped, with a colour television, a radio alarm clock and thermostatically controlled radiators. On the landing there is a service area with a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms in the Old Manse are spacious, warm, light and airy, furnished with either antique or fine furniture and with extensive, uninterrupted views of the splendid and varied scenery.
The comfortable communal rooms have an elegant, but relaxed ambience. There is a fine drawing room with large, south facing bay window and superb marble fireplace with open fire to relax in front of, together with an eclectic selection of books to read or music to listen to.
