Designed by award-winning architects Pentarq and located at Marwick Bay in the beautiful north-west Mainland of Orkney, Choin has two very comfortable ground floor twin/double guest rooms with en-suite level access shower rooms and sea views.
You will enjoy breakfast with a spectacular view south over Marwick Bay to the Old Man of Hoy and can relax in our comfortable lounge with it's wood-burning stove for chilly evenings. Choin has ample parking space and a separate guest entrance.
Our breakfast buffet includes a selection of fresh and poached fruit and fruit juices, cereals, yogurt and home baked muffins etc. We serve traditional porridge made with stone-ground oatmeal from the local water-powered Barony Mill and our own bread. Our cooked breakfasts include smoked Westray haddock, scrambled egg with Orkney smoked salmon, dry-cured bacon and egg on a toasted muffin topped with Orkney farm cheese and home-smoked Swannay trout kedgeree. We aim to use as much local and Fair Trade produce as possible.
We are only a few minutes' walk from the beach from where you can follow the path up to the cliffs at Marwick Head to see the spectacular "seabird city" which guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and puffins nest on the ledges beneath the Kitchener Memorial. Close to the RSPB reserves we are surrounded by beautiful and exciting wildlife. Choin is an ideal base for walkers, bird-watchers and anglers and is well-places for visiting Orkney's renowned World Heritage archaeological sites including the Neolithic village of Skara Brae.
