Barnhills Farmhouse is set apart from the working dairy farm, which milks over 300 cows. This is the main enterprise of the family run business. With this added feature Barnhills Farmhouse offers you the opportunity to get away from all the stress of daily life and is ideal base for that much deserved peaceful short break.

All bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with the character of the house for your comfort and relaxation. Our guests are provided with en-suite bedrooms, TV, tea and coffee facilities, clock/radio alarms and electric blankets in addition to magnificent views. The house is centrally heated throughout. There is a large comfortable sitting room for guests with TV, video, DVD and books to read. Our guests are welcome to sit and unwind outside watching the ferries sailing past. There is ample secure parking available.

For your further convenience and comfort a continental or full Scottish breakfast will be served in our spacious and bright dining room.

For those wishing to get really close to nature, why not take a leisurely walk around our working farm or a stroll along the un-spoilt, rugged coastline where unique rock forms, bird life, sea life and wild deer can be found. In addition, why not experience and admire the wide variety of maritime wild flowers, which are enhanced by the Gulf Stream. You can enjoy all the area has to offer no matter what time of year you decide to take a short break.

Other activities in the area include golf, fishing, shooting, bowling, pony trekking, wind surfing and sailing. When wet, the local town of Stranraer offers shopping, indoors sports facilities, a museum and St John's Castle.

Full day excursions and tours to Northern Ireland are offered by Stena Line and P & O Line, which will complete any holiday.
