Kirklands House

Gill and Peter promise you will receive a warm and friendly welcome at Kirklands. Our beautiful home was built in 1832 and is surrounded by 2 acres of stunning gardens - which have been featured on television and are open to the public under the Scottish Garden Scheme - plus 20 acres of important naturally regenerating woodland - a SINC (Site of Importance for Nature Conservation).

We are secluded, though central for sightseeing in Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth and Glasgow. For golfers we are perfectly located between St Andrews and Gleneagles. For walkers, we have the Ochils close by. For cyclists the Millennium Cycleway and the Blairadam Forest Trails. For those interested in history we have the beautifully preserved village of Culross, Castle Campbell, the Wallace Monument (Brave Heart) and the town of Dunfermline where the Kings and Queens of Scotland were crowned and the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie was born all within a short distance. Within a few miles we have the Knockhill Race Track for the motor bike and car enthusiasts. Kirklands is the perfect base to tour Scotland.

We think we have thought of every convenience (please tell us if you disagree). Electric sockets near mirrors for hair drying (hairdriers in both rooms), Full length mirrors, Radio alarm clocks, plenty of surfaces in the bathroom for toiletries. Our comfortable double and twin bedrooms both have en-suite bathrooms. We can have a small single bed for toddlers that can be put up in the double room and a cot for even smaller visitors.

Where possible we have used local Scottish produce for your breakfast - "Fifeshire" bacon from Auchtertool, local free range eggs, sausages from a prize winning local butcher, freshly baked bread, organically grown tomatoes. All hot breakfasts are cooked to order.
