Croys

Located in a prime location in the beautiful Urr Valley, just 3 miles away from the Food Town of Castle Douglas, Croys is a great B&B which serves fantastic meals.
Set in 35 acres of beautiful parkland and gardens, this elegant Georgian house guarantees a luxurious stay. The proprietor is an excellent cook and the secret to her delicious meals is the freshest vegetables, which are grown in Croys’ gardens. Everything else is locally sourced or homemade including tasty preserves and home-produced meat which make the most delicious breakfasts, and if required, exquisite evening meals.
The elegantly furnished bedrooms provide the ultimate in luxury. The spacious double en suite room enjoys expansive views over the beautiful garden and countryside beyond and is traditionally decorated, with a marble fireplace and antique furniture. The second double room also boasts magnificent views and is furnished with a grand four-poster bed and period furniture. The adjoining twin room is brightly decorated and has two comfortable single antique French beds.
The opulent dining room has French windows which open onto the idyllic sunken gardens, which in late winter are covered by a carpet of snowdrops. The grand reception rooms, with their cosy large open fires, provide the perfect place to relax in the evening.
The house sits in an elevated position in the Urr Valley, well-known for its trout, salmon and sea trout fishing. Loch Ken, about 7 miles away, provides the perfect place for fishing, sailing and other watersports. The 7stanes mountain biking centres, offering world-class routes, are nearby and the magnificent Galloway Hills, which form part of the Southern Upland Way walking route, are popular with hillwalkers.
