Edinburgh First
Set at the foot of Arthur's Seat in self-contained landscaped grounds and within easy walking distance to the city centre, Edinburgh First offers a range of excellent, value-for-money accommodation for groups and individuals. 1,600 bedrooms are available on site during the months of March April and this figure increases to 1,900 in June September. 524 rooms have a 3 star rating.
Guests can choose from single standard, single en-suite twin en-suite and double en-suite rooms.
Linen, toiletries and towels are provided in all rooms, which are serviced daily. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in all rooms. All rooms are non smoking. Breakfast is served daily in the John McIntyre Centre at the heart of the Edinburgh First grounds at Pollock Halls.
Our wide range of accommodation suits all kinds of visitors from individual travellers to those coming in twos and threes, as well as large parties such as sporting groups and associations.
There are three catering outlets on site including "Absorb" a lively café piazza bar; extensive car parking, a shop and cash-point machine. Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile and the city's main shopping areas are a short walk away. For the more energetic visitor Holyrood Park and Arthur's Seat are close by and are ideal for jogging or leisurely walks.
A varierty of conference and banqueting rooms are also available throughout the year.
The University's Centre for Sport and Exercise takes 10 minutes on foot and offers a wide range of sporting facilities including squash, football, badminton, basketball and korfball courts, multi-gyms and regular exercise classes. Special rates can be arranged at the Centre for Sport and Exercise for guests staying on the Edinburgh First campus.
