Offering all the freedom of self-catering accommodation in scenic south west Scotland, Glentrool Holiday Park provides a relaxing haven away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Each of the spacious caravan holiday homes are fitted out with your comfort in mind with a WC, shower, fitted kitchen, full size fridge, microwave, colour TV and double and twin bedrooms with quality bedding and cosy duvets.
If you are touring, there are 14 hardstanding pitches for caravans and motor homes, all with electric hook-up as well as well-maintained toilet facilities and other features which will make your stay a great one. Some of the park’s tent pitches also have electric hook-up.
The reception and shop are open daily and have a wide range of tourist information on offer and the friendly and knowledgeable team will happily advise you on all the attractions which are within easy reach of the park. Just a short walk away, the House o’ Hill public house offers bar snacks, packed lunches and evening meals.
Here you are also ideally located for exploring pretty Newton Stewart and all its attractions. Spend a day at the Merrick Leisure Centre, with indoor heated swimming pool, explore the Newton Stewart Museum or take on the fairways of the town’s challenging 18-hole parkland course.
This is also a great choice for exploring the Galloway Hills, trying your hand at watersports on Loch Ken, exploring the walking trails around Loch Trool, bird watching at RSPB at Mersehead and riding the world-class 7stanes mountain biking trails. At night, the Galloway Forest Park is one of the best spots in the UK for stargazing with the naked eye, as it’s the first Dark Sky Park in the UK and one of only two in Europe. We are the only caravan park within the Dark Sky Park
