Loch Ken Holiday Park

Situated near the Galloway Forest Park on the shores of Loch Ken and set amidst beautiful countryside, this small, well-sheltered park is renowned for its friendliness and cleanliness.

Offering first-class fishing and watersports on the loch, fantastic birdwatching spots, excellent walking and cycling, this family-run park is an ideal base for families, nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts. The fishing is excellent, many fishermen return each year to catch the famous Loch Ken pike, roach, bream and perch.

The park has deluxe two- or three-bedroom waterside holiday homes available for hire, with private decking areas and fishing packages included. There are also new hardstanding touring and motor home pitches with electric hook ups and fantastic views across the water, plus an extensive tent field with some electric hook-ups and spectacular views down the Loch and across the Galloway Hills.

The excellent facilities include two new children's play parks, football field, table tennis table, pedalos, boats, canoes and mountain bikes for hire. FREE Wi-Fi throughout the whole park along with a 24hrs information room and a reception/grocery shop on site open daily. A heated toilet block with family rooms, free power showers and hair dryers, and newly refurbished private disabled toilet and shower. Fully equipped dishwashing and laundry facility with washing and drying machines.
Adjacent to the park are the RSPB bird reservation, the “Galloway Kite Trail” and the Galloway Forest Park with its 300 square miles of beautiful green forest, heather-clad hills, wealth of wildlife and two of the 7stanes mountain biking centres, Glentrool and Kirroughtree ,which offers our visitors many opportunities to walk, climb, cycle and bird watch. At night, it is also one of the best spots in the UK for stargazing with the naked eye, as it’s the first Dark Sky Park in the UK and one of only two in Europe! This is also an ideal base for exploring the delightful “Food Town” of Castle Douglas (7 miles) and the “Art Town” of Kirkcudbright (15 miles).
