8 West Tankerness Lane

8 West Tankerness Lane is a quality, late Victorian, stone-built house, mid of a unique terrace of four, centrally situated in Kirkwall.

The accommodation is of a very high standard with oil fired central heating providing modern comforts for the cooler days. All rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated.

Accommodation consists of lounge, with dining area, kitchen, and bathroom on the ground floor, and upstairs there are two bedrooms - a spacious double bedroom with TV, and the smaller has adult-sized bunk beds. .

The lounge has a feature stone and wood panelled fireplace wall. Comfortable seating, adjustable lighting, Freeview TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, books and games are provided for those relaxing moments. The kitchen has integral dishwasher and fridge, ceramic topped cooker, microwave etc, plus all crockery, pots and cooking utensils to make a fully equipped kitchen. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine,tumble drier, freezer and sink.

The garden at the rear of the house has a built-in BBQ, table and chairs, and is sheltered and ideal for relaxing at the end of a busy day sightseeing. It also has a drying green, and there are bicycles in the shed for use, free of charge.

The house is ideally suited for touring Orkney. Within easy walking distance in Kirkwall is the main street with its many gift shops, St Magnus Cathedral and the Earl's and Bishop's Palaces, buses, the harbour, the marina and waterfront, a full sized golf course and open countryside, leisure centre (with cinema), bowling alley, internet café, restaurants, pubs and supermarkets.

Prices are per week and include heating, electricity, linen and towels.

A non-refundable £50 per week booking deposit is required, with the balance payable a month before arrival.

Bookings are available from Saturday to Saturday, with check-in after 2 pm and check-out before 10 am. Other arrangements can be made during mid and low season.
