Birsay Outdoor Centre

Birsay Outdoor Centre is a 3 star graded facility and can accommodate 28 people in 5 bedrooms.
The Centre offers an ideal location for walks, cliffs and beaches, and is close to the Brough of Birsay, Earls Palace and Marwick Head.
The Birsay Outdoor Centre is situated in the northwest corner of the Orkney mainland. The centre has been recently refurbished and offers comfortable accommodation, with all new furniture, beds and appliances. The Centre accommodates up to 30 people in 5 bedrooms and family rooms are available. All bed linen is provided. There's a well equipped kitchen, dining area and small lounge, drying room and disabled access.
The Centre is open April to September. Pre-book only.
The Centre is in close proximity to a spectacular and varied coastline, scenery and beaches. Nearby at the Brough of Birsay you can see the remains of early Christian and Norse settlements on a tidal island. Overlooking Birsay Bay, the Earls palace was used in the latter 16th century by the Earls of Orkney. The Centre is also conveniently placed to visit Orkney's 5,500 year old Neolithic Heartland which was granted World Heritage status by UNESCO in 1999 and includes the Ring of Brodgar. Close by are the Standing Stones of Stenness, the tomb of Maeshowe and in Sandwick, the well-preserved village of Skara Brae.
Nearby there is a picturesque cliff walk to Marwick Head, an RSPB reserve, where you can visit the Kitchener Memorial, a monument to Lord Kitchener, who lost his life when HMS Hampshire sanf off the headland in 1916.
There are special rates for exclusive use of the centre: £215.00 per night, £1155 per week.
