Getting there from the Information Centre
From Kirkwall T.I.C., go out on to Junction Road. Turn right at the roundabout and then next left to Orkney Ferries terminal for Westray. From Stromness T.I.C. take the A965 to Kirkwall, go straight on at the first two roundabouts and Orkney Ferries North Isles terminal is next on the left.
Getting There by Railway
Scotrail from all Scottish departures to either Thurso or Wick or Aberdeen.www.scotrail.co.uk
Getting there by Aeroplane
British Airways (UK) either from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Wick or Sumburgh (Shetland) to Kirkwall (Orkney). Loganair operates between Kirkwall and Westray. From Westray Airstrip taxi or car takes you into village or drops you where you wish to go.
Getting There by Ferry
NorthLink Ferries from Aberdeen or Lerwick to Kirkwall. NorthLink Ferries from Scrabster to Stromness. Pentland Ferries from Gills Bay to St Margaret's Hope. John o' Groats ferries from John o' Groats to Burwick (May - September). From Rapness ferry terminal taxi will pick up from ferry also daily bus service using school buses for the May to September time table, approximately 7 miles from ferry to Pierowall Hotel.
