Steam Packet Inn

The Steam Packet Inn is located in the picturesque fishing village of Isle of Whithorn at the southernmost tip of the Machars peninsula in south west of Scotland. The village of Isle of Whithorn nestles around its harbour and has a long history of seafaring and trade dating back to the Vikings and St Ninian. There is a peaceful air and life moves at a slower pace with the boats and tide the closest to the hustle and bustle of city traffic.
The Isle of a perfect place for exploring this unspoilt corner of Scotland. Numerous golf courses are an easy drive on quiet roads. Fishing is widely available on the lochs, local rivers Bladnoch and Cree. There are numerous trails or quiet roads down which to walk, ride or cycle.
The Steam Packet Inn provides for anything from a quick bite of lunch through to a full evening dinner. Meals are served throughout both bars and in the lower dining room and conservatory restaurants. Traditional Sunday lunches are served with children and special diets catered for. The emphasis is on serving the freshest of Scottish produce, particularly seafood that is often bought straight from the boats landing in front of the hotel.
Put your feet up in one of our seven en-suite bedrooms, five with sea frontage. Our new deluxe rooms have power showers, luxury handmade beds and seating areas overlooking the harbour.
Our famous Galloway breakfast is included in the tariff and is sure to set you up for the day.
