THE OLDEST INN ON SKYE.

The Inn offers the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Mobile phones don't work in the building and we don't have televisions.
So come and enjoy what Stein and Skye have to offer, whether that is:-
climbing mountains or walking at a lower level;
bird watching;
enjoying the fabulous scenery from your car;
investigating what is at the end of each of the little roads;
sampling the local brews:
tasting the freshest of shellfish and other local produce;
visiting the local craft shops and exhibitions of which
there are many near to Stein on Waternish.

In its present state, the Stein Inn dates from 1790, although parts are known to predate this, making it the oldest inn on the Isle of Skye. If only stone and mortar could speak, what spell-binding tales could be told of old clan battles and daring escapades!
The air is rich with romance in this totally unspoilt and traditional inn. However, a happy medium has been struck between the old days and modern times ensuring that discerning travellers are more than comfortable in the stylish and up to date ensuite bedrooms.

As a family-run establishment, the Stein Inn is only too happy to welcome other families - two of the double rooms can accommodate parents with up to two children. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome to stay at the Stein Inn.

The shores and seas around Skye abound with marine life whilst the land supports sheep grazed on sweet heather, wild deer and the renowned highland cattle. The finest and freshest produce is readily available and is transformed at Stein Inn into mouth-watering, home-cooked dishes.

Diners can take advantage of eating in the dining room, or in the bar or indeed outside in the beer garden, weather permitting. Whether choosing a bar snack, light lunch or a full three-course evening meal, the emphasis is on good, wholesome food at affordable prices (as a guide, from £26 to £50 for a three course evening meal for two including wine).

All meals are freshly prepared to order with a menu that changes daily in accordance with the season's availability.

The wood-panelled bar is a place for both visitors and locals to tarry over a dram of Scotland's finest ... ... to chat about the spectacular scenery viewed that day, or just to sit quietly by the smouldering peat fire, (not in the summer).

A fine selection of whisky, wine, liqueurs, soft drinks and cask ales, including the Stein Inn's very own "Reeling Deck" (brewed specially by the Isle of Skye Brewery), are available. A lounge is located adjacent to the main bar area. We are pleased to have been voted Skye, Lochalsh and the Hebrides Pub of the Year by CAMRA for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 and to have repeatedly achieved Cask Marque accreditation for the quality of our cask ales.

At Stein Inn we strongly believe in protecting the environment for you to enjoy and for future generations. Therefore we are heavily committed to Green Tourism Business Scheme and are delighted to have regained our Gold standard certification.

The whole Inn is non-smoking.

Please check for children room rates.

We will also be running a 3 nights for the price of 2 offer between November and March. Please call to check availability.
