The Hungry Monk Hotel
The Hungry Monk is situated in Gartocharn, a picturesque village on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. Easily accessible from Glasgow Airport, the hotel is adjacent to one of the major tourist routes between Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Stirling and the Trossachs.
Reminiscent of a Victorian Village Inn, The Hungry Monk extends a warm Scottish welcome to visitors both local and from all over the world. Established in 1990 The Hungry Monk has earned the reputation for serving generous portions of traditional good food, freshly prepared and at excellent value.
The accommodation at the Hungry Monk has been designed with everyone in mind. Our bedrooms are tastefully furnished and equipped to the highest standard, with ensuite bath/shower rooms, satellite televisions, trouser press, hairdryer and hospitality tray.
Open from 10am every day and featuring two coal fires, our intimate Bar Lounge is the perfect place to relax with friends and your favourite drink. Choose from our extensive range of Malt Whisky, Spirits, Liqueurs and Fine Wines. At weekends you can also enjoy a warming bowl of home-made soup and our famous Club Sandwiches.
Our concept is to provide fine food all day, and with this in mind, our "Lunchstyle" menu is available from 12.00noon until 5.00pm and our "Sizzlestyle" menu from 5pm until late (we ask that last orders for food are placed no later than 10.00pm.
Situated a stones throw away from Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, The Hungry Monk is an ideal base for long walks in breathtaking scenery or for that short shopping trip in to Glasgow, Stirling or the many smaller towns nearby and is only five minutes by car from the new Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre in Balloch.
