Ardvergnish

Ardvergnish stands on the lower southern slopes of Ben More, the Isle of Mull's highest mountain. Ardvergnish is a traditional 18C farmhouse. In 2003 it became possibly the only private house to appear on a 1st class stamp. It has been extended into the old barn and the farm buildings, providing two units with 9 beds: house and annexe. There are two large sitting rooms (the barn room has a great window with a superb view of Ben More, 3169 ft.. There is a piano, tuned regularly). There are two kitchens and accommodation for up to 18, some in bunk beds. House & annexe are not let separately. Ardvergnish is equally suitable for large or small parties. Furnishings are practical, traditional and comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped, there's a good drying room and no shortage of hot water. Heating by a combination of oil and electricity. Superb natural swimming pool in burn; salmon, sea trout fishing available in River Coladoir in season and stalking can be arranged. Great walking and bird-watching - the Isle of Mull is famouse for both.
