Crathie Opportunity Holidays
The cottages are open all year round and are offered primarily to disabled people, their families and friends.Sleeping a total of 19 they are an ideal place to hold a family gathering, group vacation or just a relaxing break for two by the river. Short breaks of 3 days and activity breaks are available from November until March.
The Manse Courtyard sits on the banks of the River Dee at Crathie, overlooking Balmoral Estate. It comprises four separate, self-catering cottages sleeping 4-6 persons each. The cottages have been named after four of our local Scottish glens.
Girnock and Gelder cottages have riverside patios and views across the Dee to Balmoral Golf Course, Gairn and Clunie cottages open out onto the courtyard.
Each cottage has been designed and equipped with emphasis on full accessibility for disabled people and has many extra facilities including:
· Level access
· Underfloor heating
· Wide doorways and corridors
· Low level plugs and sockets
· Low level sink and cooker
· Wheel in shower area with rise and fall washhandbasin
· Closomat shower toilet
· Adjustable shower with shower seat
· Non slip flooring in bathroom
· Ceiling track and hoist in main bedrooms
Gairn cottage is allergy free and highly suitable for guests with asthma/breathing problems or allergies, no pets here.
Girnock and Clunie are completely on groundfloor and Gelder and Gairn are split level with one open plan twin bedroom upstairs. Girnock is the only cottage which is detached.
There is a garden room in the courtyard with glazed patio doors and comfy seating - a great place to meet, chat and smoke if you wish. Garden chairs and gas barbecue are kept here. The laundry has two washers, two dryers, deep freeze and ironing equipment. The river patio overlooks the Dee and has tables and chairs. Next to this is our unique adventure playground which is accessible to wheelchair users, both adults and children!
