Burlington

A Haven of Tranquillity
True Scottish hospitality awaits you at this lovely Edwardian sea-side guesthouse where you can experience the tranquillity and exhilaration of "Scotland in Miniature" - the magical island of Arran.
Rescued from semi-dereliction in 1996 by the current owners John and Doreen Lamont, the building has been sympathetically refurbished and now reflects the standards expected by today's visitor whilst retaining Edwardian features. All bedrooms have ensuite or private facilities, colour televisions, radio alarms, and hospitality trays. We do not, however, have phones in the bedrooms - you're here to relax.
There is a comfortable residents' Lounge which overlooks the bay and a pleasant patio where you can sit, enjoy a drink and watch a sedate procession of swans as they glide across the bay or wonder at the gannets as they plunge into the waves as they spy a tasty morsel, or contemplate "The Waverley", Britain's last sea-going paddle-steamer as she proceeds down the Clyde.
The Burlington's restaurant is not open on a regular basis for dinner in 2009. It is, however, available for pre-booked parties and functions. Guests are now welcome to book dinner at a nearby restaurant which offers a similar style of menu at similar prices. To complement your meal, you can enjoy an apéritif beforehand and liqueur to round off the evening on the Burlington patio or in our residents' lounge.
We welcome dogs here at the Burlington, but please DO PHONE US TO CHECK AVAILABILITY There is an additional charge for dogs.
