Cluanie Inn

The Cluanie Inn lying between Glen Shiel and Glenmoriston on the road to the Isle of Skye is a true haven in the Highlands. Although the original building is over 200 years old and retains all the character of a typical old Scottish Coaching Inn, a 10 year old extension provides comfortable, modern accommodation. All rooms are en-suite but for a treat book our Sauna Suite or Special Occasion Suite with four-poster bed and jacuzzi bath. The club house accommodation which has mainly bunk beds is ideal for groups and families.
Surrounded by 21 munros the Cluanie Inn has long been a mecca for climbers, hillwalkers and deer stalkers. Our drop off service to the point in Glen Sheil is available for a minimal charge and packed lunches and drying facilites are also on offer.

For the casual visitor the Inn is an excellent base for exploring the West Highlands. The city of Inverness and the town of Fort William are both within an hours drive through breathtaking scenery, while the picturesque villages of Plockton and Glenelg are even closer at hand. The proximity of the Cluanie Inn to the Skye bridge means this beautiful island with its landscape and numerous visitor attractions can be toured at leisure.

Historic attractions abound in the area which is steeped in Jacobite history. Eileen Donan Castle, the most photographed castle in Scotland is only 20 minutes by car and the new visitor centre at Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness (35 mins) tells the story of this impressive fortress.

For the wildlife enthusiast there are opportunities to see ospreys, golden eagles, pine martins, otters and deer are regular visitors to the Hotel grounds.
