Tiree Scarinish Hotel
Under new ownership since December 2003. We are set beside the original harbour in Scarinish, the main settlement on Tiree, and beside a safe sandy beach. Boats come and go, as does a diversity of birdlife, as well as Horace the harbour seal!
We are under a mile from the Calmac ferry terminal, where the ferry comes in 3 days a week in winter and daily during the long summer. Pickups can be arranged using the island's Ring and Ride system. The Airport is about 3 miles away with flights 6 days a week from Glasgow The flight usually arrives in time for lunch.
Our bedrooms are simple and some have harbour views. We have a renovation programme in progress and aim to make the hotel one of the best hotels in the Hebrides. Our Upper Deck guest lounge is the place to chill out looking at the horizon of islands, diving gannets or the activity of fishermen and pleasure craft.
The Lean To Bar is a friendly local meeting place with the fire adding to its cosyness. Tennents, Stella and Guinness are on draft and the whiskies on the gantry are expanding!
The Restaurant overlooks the harbour and we try to use local produce wherever possible. The lamb and beef are especially tasty and tender and guests often take home supplies from Nan MacLean the local butcher. Seafood is on offer depending on supplies, with fresh Atlantic crab and lobster a firm favourite with visitors.
We have a selection of quality wines, reasonably priced to complement our menu. Come to Tiree to take on "Tiree Time". Relax and unwind on glorious beaches with the freshest air. Take time to savour the views, the birdlife and the lack of traffic! Take in the simple pleasures of our island.
Cycling is a pleasure on this flat island with its good road surfaces. See Tiree on horseback is another idea to take you further off the beaten track. Sand yachting in Gott Bay is something different. Try out Vaul Golf Club with its 9 scenic holes.
