There are two elegant lounges where after a strenuous (or leisurely) day you can read the many books and magazines from the small library. The dining room and adjoining garden room create a warm ambience for the candlelit dinners which are a fascinating blend of traditional and modern Scottish cooking. A carefully chosen wine list enhances the enjoyment of the food which is prepared to order using fresh local ingredients where possible.

By the edge of Grantown-on-Spey in the heart of the Highlands, this exclusive small hotel has won numerous awards including, for the third year running, The RAC's top award for Small Hotels, 'The Little Gem', and Red Rossette from the AA. The Pines is also a member of the good food guide 'The Taste of Scotland', and has Dining Awards from both The AA and The RAC. Dinner £26.00.

We are delighted to have these awards but our real aim is to give each person the feeling of being a special guest in a very special Highland home.

All bedrooms are en-suite, each with its own distinctive style and furnishings. As The Pines was originally a ten bedroom house room sizes do vary. Double bed options include King, Queen and Standard size as well as twin beds. All rooms have original works of art, fresh flowers and fruit, colour television, alarm clock radio, refreshment tray, luxury toiletries and hair dryer.

The large landscaped garden and private woodlands to the rear of the house are both secluded and peaceful with a pond and stream to encourage wildlife. On fine days guests are welcome to relax here and enjoy refreshments.
