Resident's Lounge
Jura, Scarba and the mountains of Mull, can all be seen from our Resident's Lounge and Westward Restaurant which looks out across Loch Crinan. In mid-summer the sun can be seen setting over the Corryvreckan, the second largest whirlpool in the western hemisphere located between Scarba and Jura. Lots of yachts sail daily out to the west from Crinan. Some having come through the Crinan Canal from Ardrishaig and the Clyde.
Crinan Hotel is a gastronomic jewel on Argyll's wild coast-line - a perfect haven in which to relax and dine on the best of Scottish seafood.
View from a Superior Room
Here is the ideal, undemanding base from which to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of this memorable part of the Scottish landscape.
The rooms are all ensuite with either shower or bath, or both, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, terrestrial television, telephone and complimentary toiletries.
View from a Balcony Room
From each of the hotel's bedrooms - many with private balconies - guests can take in the panoramic views of Argyll's rugged west coast, historic castles and the ever-changing collection of boats in the canal basin.
The Westward Restaurant
The WESTWARD RESTAURANT is on the ground floor and looks out over Loch Crinan towards the islands. Here visitors can indulge in the delights of a real Scottish breakfast or a gourmet dinner including some of the dishes made famous by our original Lock 16 restaurant.
The Westward is open from March - October.
The Seafood Bar
The SEAFOOD BAR, our bistro style restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel, Crinan's Seafood Bar is the ideal place to enjoy the freshest of seafood and watch the hustle and bustle of life at the sea lock of Crinan Canal. Our Seafood Bar has an extensive menu featuring fresh seafood dishes using local produce landed fresh on the quay at Crinan. Voted No 1 Gastro Pub in Scotland by the Independent, our pub lunches are also highly commended in Diana Henry's Gastro Pub cook book.
Afternoon Tea
The CRINAN COFFEE SHOP is just a few yards away from the hotel on the edge of the canal basin. A favourite haunt of many day visitors to Crinan, the Coffee Shop is run as part of the hotel it offers a great range of fresh home baking, light lunches and an excellent view of the boating activity outside!
