Burnhouse

Double Bedroom

There is ample storage with a double built in wardrobe and two, three drawer cabinets.
From the window you can look out on to Ward Hill.
Burnhouse also has a single and a twin room. There is floor space for the cot in the double or twin room.

A single living space including, kitchen, dining and living areas, are ideal for quality family time spent together.

There is a third bed room with two single beds. All bed linnen and towels are provided.

Old Man of Hoy

Walking towards the Old Man Of Hoy from St John's Head(one of the highest cliffs in the UK, at 335m) on a sunny day.

There are many other walks for the family to enjoy, through the valley past Berrydale woods, hill walking, along sand, rocky or large pebble beaches.

On the door step of Burnhouse there is a 4,000hectare RSPB Reserve of moorland and sea cliffs.
The species of birds seen from inside Burnhouse include Bonxie, Hen Harrier, Oystercatcher, Starling, Common Gull, Great Black-Backed Gull, Whimbrel, Hooded Crow, Red Throated Diver, Curlew, Twite, Lapwing, Chaffinch, Pied Wagtail, Linnet, Shag, Golden Plover, Meadow Pipit, Rock Dove, Merlin, Perigrin, House sparrow,and Kestrel.

Rackwick

Unusual large pebble like boulders on Rackwick shores.

Rackwick is a very special secluded valley which often basks in sunshine when the Mainland Orkney is fog bound. There is a fantastic sandy beach to enjoy as well as the round boulders.

On a clear day you can see the North Isles and the Scottish Mainland.

There are several out door persuits to do on Hoy, hill or shoreline walks, loch or sea fishing, bird watching and cycling. There are four adult bicycles at Burnhouse for your use.
