Riverside Chalets And Caravan Park
RIVERSIDE CARAVAN PARK is overlooked by rolling hills and is bordered by the gently flowing Blackwater River. The park is situated in the centre of the village of Contin,in the heart of the Highlands,less than half an hour from the bustling city of Inverness with its shops,theatre,cinema,restaurants,aquadome and sporting venues. The market town of Dingwall and the victorian Spa village of Strathpeffer offering restaurants,shops,market days,chocolate shops as well as pipe bands and Highland dancers are closer still.
This old established park is ideally situated for touring the spectacular scenic west coast or,in the other direction,the North of Scotland can be visited (John O Groats 100 miles).
Riverside is the perfect location for accessing over 60 Munros including The Fannichs,Ben Dearg group and An Teallach. Torridon,Glen Affric,Cannich and Strathpeffer and numerous forest walks are within easy reach.
Our park is the ideal base for fishing for many lochs in the Stathconon valley and rivers including River Conon which the Blackwater flows into. Fishing is FREE from the caravan park in the Blackwater and permits are available locally. The view overlooking the river is beautiful,natural and unspoilt and the atmosphere is of tranqulity.
Pony trekking,mountain biking (50 miles of mountain bike tracks in the area to suit all levels of experience),golf courses including Strathpeffer,Aigas,Muir of Ord and the renowned Dornoch links course are all close by. Local walks can include viewing the hillscapes or even watching the salmon jumping at Rogie Falls.
There is an abundance of wildlife which can be spotted from the park including red kite,buzzards,herons,otters,roe deer,red deer,squirrels,pine martin and even Golden eagles are frequently seen.
Facilities on the site include hot showers with no charge for hot water. There is also a small laundry room.The local grocery shop sits alongside the park and the garage and 2 excellent hotels welcome campers to their lounge bars and restaurant facilities.
