Getting there from the Information Centre

From Stornoway follow A859 Stornoway to Tarbert Road to village of Leurbost. At the junction of A858 turn right and follow this road to Garynahine. Turn left onto the B8011 and follow this road for approximately 4 miles. Turn right onto B8059. Cross the bridge onto Bernera and follow the road north to Breaclete turning left after the school, turn right after the first house on the right and its the second house on the right.

Getting There by Car

Getting there by Aeroplane

There are a number of cheap flights coming to Inverness Airport and from there you can catch an onward flight with either British Airways or Highland Airways.

Direct flights to Stornoway fly several times a day and can be a cost effective alternative to coming by car. British Airways fly from Stornoway to Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh and London

Getting There by Ferry

There are three choices of ferry depending where you are travelling from.
Carry on north from Inverness to the ferry port of Ullapool.You can catch the ferry from there to Stornoway which will take 2 hours 40 minutes. Travel time from Stornoway is around 45 minutes.

From Uig on Skye you can take the ferry to Tarbert, Harris. This route takes 1 hour 30 minutes on the ferry with a drive north to Valasay taking 1 hour 15 minutes.

Finally you can travel north from Uist, catching the ferry in Berneray to Leverburgh in south Harris. Travel time from there is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
