The Bothy
Wester Culmore sits on the banks of the river Forth with open views of the Trossachs, the Ochils and the Gargunnock Hills. The main crops are oats and hay, we also have cattle domestic poultry, a pony (and a motley collection of dogs and cats!). Peace and quiet is ensured by the farm lying a mile up a farm track (partially surfaced and accessible by car but not up to "road" standard).
The Bothy was converted to a cottage several years ago and sits at a right angle to the farmhouse looking east over the fields. There is a private garden/parking area which is enclosed and not overlooked. The accommodation consists of a double and a twin bedroom upstairs, accessed by a spiral staircase, downstairs there is a bathroom (bath/shower) and an open plan living/kitchen area with a cast iron woodburner. All woodwork is pine and the downstairs floors are tiled.
We are 3 miles from Kippen which has a restaurant, grocers, pub and deli/coffee shop. Glasgow and Edinburgh are approx 45 minutes away, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are a 10 to 15 miles drive. If you enjoy travelling, Glencoe, Argyll, Fife and Perthshire can all be seen during a days outing.
