If you are looking to pick up essentials, Thornhill is only a few miles away for grocery shopping and there are a number of friendly pubs to enjoy a drink and meet the locals. The larger historic town of Dumfries is around 16 miles away and boasts a wealth of attractions including a number of properties dedicated to Scotland’s best-loved bard, Robert Burns.
