Gartnafuaran Farm Holiday Cottage

The farm is set in 130 acres of beautiful Perthshire countryside, with 2 miles of trout river. There are sheep, horses, ducks and chickens around the farm, as well as the occasional deer. The farm is approximately half a mile from the centre of Balquhidder. The village stands at the eastern end of Loch Voil, which is rich in salmon and trout. The "legendary clan hero", Rob Roy MacGregor, is buried in the grounds of the kirk.
The self contained single storey cottage is attached to the main farmhouse and was originally a dairy. The buildings are stonebuilt and are several hundred years old. The views are magnificent in every direction. The centrally heated accommodation comprises a spacious sitting room with colour television, dining table and log burning stove, one double and one twin bedded room, and a shower room. The fully equipped kitchen has electric cooker, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The kitchen door leads onto a secure private garden for which our guests have sole use. Continental quilts, bed-linen and towels are provided. Heating, electricity, all linen and amenities are included in the rental (no hidden extras).
The lane immediately in front of the property forms part of the Naitonal Cycleway which runs between Killin and Callander. Fishing is free on our stretch of the river Balvaig. There are watersports at nearby Lochearnhead, and several golf courses a short distance away. There is excellent hill-walking in every direction. Local shop and Post Office is approximately 3 miles away.
