Getting there from the Information Centre
From Oban Tourist Information Centre, travel east on the A85 to Connel (5 miles) then cross the Connel Bridge on the A828. Continue on this road across the New Creagan Bridge for 16 miles. The Appin House driveway turnoff is on the right hand side, approximately 2.5 miles after the Appin Police House, and opposite a large lay-by. The journey should take 30-40 minutes.
Getting There by Railway
From Queen Street station, Glasgow, take the train to Oban. Travel east on the A85 to Connel (5 miles) then cross the Connel Bridge on the A82. Continue on this road across the New Creagan Bridge for 16 miles. The Appin House driveway turnoff is on the right hand side, approximately 2.5 miles after the Appin Police House, and opposite a large lay-by. The journey should take 30-40 minutes.
Getting there by Aeroplane
From Glasgow Airport and the M8 take the route west across the Erskine Bridge to the A82. Follow this road north and west through Crianlarich, Tyndrum, and across Ranoch Moor to the Ballachulish Bridge (82 miles). At the roundabout before the bridge turn southwards towards Oban on the A828, the driveway to Appin House is located on the left hand side, approximately 11 miles from the Ballachulish Hotel. The journey should take 2 hours.
Getting There by Ferry
From Campbeltown follow the A83 north via Tarbert, Lochgilphead and Kilmelford to Oban (89) miles. Travel east on the A85 to Connel (5 miles) then cross the Connel Bridge on the A828. Continue on this road across the New Creagan Bridge for 16 miles. The Appin House driveway turn off is on the right hand side, approximately 2.5 miles after the Appin police House, and opposite a large lay-by. The journey should take 30-40 minutes.
