This is an 18th century fully refurbished former Blacksmiths cottage, possibly the prettiest traditional cottage on Skye. Now providing very comfortable intimate holiday accommodation for romantic holidays for two.
From the modern kitchen extension, with all facilities - including washer/dryer, you go through the original front door in the 3ft thick wall into a hallway. This leads to a sitting room with TV, hi-fi and glowing stove; to the toilet and shower room; and to the bedroom with delightfully draped double bed.
The owners spent many happy holidays here themselves so it is fully equipped to a high standard with books, games, videos and cds, and in the kitchen there's the choice of coffee machine OR cafetière as well as a washing machine, microwave and baking equipment too! The MacKinnons from Geelong said, "This quite unique little cottage has everything."
The wee cottage may be small but it's perfectly formed and our guests have made comments like "idyllic cottage", "wonderfully cosy and comfortable", "the perfect place to unwind and relax", "we couldn't believe how lovely it was", and our favourite "we consider ourselves blessed to have experienced Crepigill Cottage". Crepigill Cottage is around 5 miles (8km) north of Portree, the main town on Skye, and is central for touring or shopping. It is also a short walk from the Skeabost Country House Hotel's fine Dining Room or its Conservatory restaurant. Also situated in the grounds of the hotel, next to the 9-hole golf course, is the quaint Finlay's Bar, about which one of our Hogmanay guests reported: "We didn't get too much abuse (!) and won 2 out of the 6 raffle prizes, then they got us into the hotel to finish off the old year with a Scottish dance - being whirled round by elderly men in kilts - a very good evening!".
