Foodies will be delighted by the cottage’s close proximity to Dumfries & Galloway’s Food Town, Castle Douglas. This thriving but unspoiled market town offers over 50 shops including premium delicatessens, charming cafés and a family-run brewery. For the active, you can try your hand at watersports at the fantastic Loch Ken which offers sailing, canoeing and windsurfing But if you prefer dry land, the activity centre is also great for archery, abseiling and orienteering. For lovers of the outdoors, nearby Galloway Forest Park is not to be missed with over 300 square miles of woodland walks, rare wildlife, world-class cycling trails and some of the best stargazing spots in Europe.
