Snipie's Bothy
Snipie's Bothy is situated centrally in Grampian near to the A96 trunk road. This gives easy access to Deeside, Speyside, the coast, Aberdeen and the Grampian Highlands. These contain a wealth of castles, distilleries, National Trust properties and museums, as well as a wide range of special and general interest visitor attractions. The local towns and villages provide a wide range of places to eat out that will satisfy all tastes and budgets. For the more active there is a wide range of sporting and outdoor activities, in particular walking, golf, riding, fishing and fisheries. The area is rich in wildlife with a number of special interest sites.
A separate heated building is provided for the storage of cycles or sports equipment and the drying of outdoor clothing or dogs. It is in a safe and quiet location being a third of a mile from the public road and is surrounded by open farmland and woods. There is direct access to woodland walks and, as well as a small garden and play area there is always a paddock available for outdoor games. The location lends itself to those who wish to bring dogs.
The Bothy is the former farmhouse of Snipefield, the steading of which has been converted into the owner's house, so help and advice is always on hand if required. When the Bothy was converted it was built to modern standards, so whilst it has many traditional features it is ideal for four seasons use.
The accommodation is compact and cosy with the main rooms open plan around a log burning stove. There is a double bedroom and a small single bedroom. For visitors who need accommodation for four people an adult sized bunk can be fitted above the single bed. A choice of duvets or traditional bedding is provided and the price includes all line and fuel. There are no extras. A 15% discount is given for couples.
