Aird Farm Holiday Cottages

Aird House and Aird Steading Cottage are situated on a 1500 acre hill farm 3 miles from Ardfern with cattle, sheep and Appaloosa Horses. Both the house and cottage are at the end of Craignish Peninsula with panoramic sea views which stretch SW to the Paps of Jura, West to the Straits of Corryvreckan (the well known whirlpool between the islands of Jura and Scarba) and the mountains of Mull provide a magnificent backdrop to the islands of Luing and Lunga. The newly renovated Aird Steading Cottage offers luxury, spacious accommodation for a couple and is unique in that it has views of both Loch Craignish to the East and the islands of the West. Both the house and cottage have their own enclosed garden with a westerly aspect.

On the farm itself there are many walks with breathtaking views of the Sound of Jura, Loch Craignish and Knapdale, with several scheduled pebble beaches offering peace and tranquillity. The glorious evening sunsets can be enjoyed from the lounge and kitchen / dining windows. Dolphins, seals, otters are often seen along with many different species of birdlife.

Mid – Argyll is well known for its prehistoric sites, standing stones and Neolithic burial grounds at Kilmartin with one situated on the farm itself. Regular boat trips are available from Ardfern and Craobh Haven Marina. Horse riding stables are available at Lunga, Craobh Haven. Arduaine Garden is a short distance from the farm.

Ardfern village , which is 3 miles from the farm has a hotel, craft / restaurant shop, village shop with a post office and yacht centre and within easy reach there are several other hotels and restaurants. Lochgilphead is 30minutes drive with shops, and Oban, 45 minutes drive, is the ferry port to the islands along with shops and banks.

Aird House and Aird Steading Cottage are an ideal base for visiting Fort William, Ben Nevis, Glencoe, the Inner Hebrides and the Mull of Kintyre or just to enjoy exploring Craignish peninsula and getting away from it all.
